	YMCA Computer Academy has been once again identified by the NIOS, as its official Examination Center in Bangalore. Mr. R. Prasannakumar, Co-ordinator has been entrusted to conduct the examinations as the Center Superintendent of the Examination Center.

YMCA Computer Academy completed successfully its 10 years of existence at City YMCA, so far the Academy has trained 500 students and over 202 were trained under the NIOS Scheme. Incidentally the YMCA is a Accredited Vocational Institute under the National Institute of Open Schooling, Department of Education, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, the clientele comprising of house wives, working men and women, college students, YMCA College of Physical Education (D.P.Ed. & B.P.Ed.) students, school children and a few physically challenged people. Even a few retired and Government Officials also trained under the NIOS scheme.


	We had two admission sessions during this year in the month of June and December 2006. In May 2006 the YMCA College of Physical Education students were trained and given certification.


	YMCA Bangalore Hosted the NIOS (Karnataka) – Coordinators AIs & AVIs Conference

YMCA Bangalore hosted a one-day meeting of the Co-ordinators of Accredited Institutes and Academic facilitators from across Karnataka. It was a rare and happy occasion for the Computer Academy to host a meeting of the co-ordinators of NIOS in the YMCA premises on the 11^th August 2006. Around 25 Co-ordinators and facilitators took part in exchanging their experiences and views on the functioning of their respective institutions from various parts of Karnataka. Mr.A.S. Mathur, Director (Vocational), NIOS, Prof. Rohidekar, Member, RCAC, NIOS along with Mr.Venugopal.Y. Executive Assistant, NIOS, Hyderabad and Mr. S.V. Rathna Kumar, General Secretary, YMCA graced the occasion and shared various problems and success stories of various institutions.


	Communication, Information Resource & Documentation

The YMCA Computer Academy continues to provide e-mails and Internet browsing facilities to all the Secretarial Staff of Bangalore YMCA. The regular documentation of both incoming and outgoing e-mails has been undertaken at regularly. The Academy is acting as a vital information exchange and communication center for the YMCA professionals. The Website www.ymcablr.net has been kept up to date satisfactorily, covering news and issues from all the departments and project centers of YMCA Bangalore.

The Database management of memberships from all the branches has been maintained at the Computer Academy both manually and electronically. The center has also been undertaking the work of collecting information from all the branches, projects, departments and activity centers, processing and storing the same for the purpose of bringing out literatures of YMCA from time to time. The Secretary -membership is also undertaking the work of PR with the Bangalore YMCA members and regularly attending to their queries and needs.

2.Secretarial Practice (PA/PS) Course: Code: 425, 426 & 427 English .
Word Processing (MS /Word) Stenography & Secretarial Practice.

3.Certificate in Computer Hardware Assembly & Maintenance: Code: 616 English
