YMCA College of Physical Education which is in existence for more than five decades in Bangalore City has been a source of inspiration and motivation for the youth to acquire skills in sports. It is very essential because many children are deprived of the opportunity to participate in the sports activities in their respective schools. The aim of the YMCA College of physical education is to motivate the youth and help them to choose Physical Education as their career. So far the college has trained more than three thousand students in physical education and a majority of them are successfully working as physical education instructors in various schools and colleges in India. During this year around fifty one students have completed their course in B.P.Ed & D.P. Ed. |

Students Association was formed to inculcate democratic principles and curriculum discipline among the students. The students were divided into two groups as Arjun Nivas and Bheema Nivas for administrative purposes. Mr. S.V. Rathna Kumar, Correspondent of YMCA College of Physical Education graced the occasion. |

Programme Exposure for College Students |

The College Students actively participated in twenty days Model Lok Sabha training sessions organized by the YMCA Youth Issues Department. The students were exposed to the current scenario in our country’s political system and the parliamentary procedures. At the valedictory function the students demonstrated the model parliament, debated on the issues of dowry deaths, sexual harassment and the socio-economic status of women in our society. Two of our College students took part in the Sir. C.V. Raman and Prof.T. Reuben Memorial, English and Kannada Debate Competitions conducted by the YMCA Youth Issues Department. Ms. Shruthi, D.P. Ed. Student won the third prize in the Kannada Debate Competition. Our college students also participated in the world water day programme on 22nd March 2011 organized by the YMCA Save Bangalore movement (Environment task group). Students distributed awareness leaflets and badges to the general public. Through these kinds of exposures, students learn the skills to organize various programmes. |

Our students had the opportunity to officiate sports and games events conducted by the TAJ International Hotel, CPTCL Junior National Doge Ball championship, 51st Senior National Athletic Meet, National Inter State Kabaddi Championship for street children by chaya network and the rural sports meet at YMCA Kumbalgodu. |
