The YMCA Bangalore Praises God as our YMCA College of Physical Education is heading towards celebrating 50 years Golden Jubilee next year.  Since inception the college has been up holding the noble ethos of catering to the development of shareer, manas and athma the three fold aspect of YMCA.  Thousands of students who were trained in our college are presently serving as Physical Directors/Instructors in various educational institutions in the county.  This year has been a very fruitful year as the students under went training in the newly started B.P.Ed. and also the D.P.Ed. Courses.

The College is involved in giving students the wholesome training with varieties of educational  exposures.  We had guest lecturers from: Mrs. Lisett  - Netherlands, Mr. Sathyanarayan.N.I.S. Chief Coach, Mr. S.M. Krishna on Yoga and Dr. Moorthy, HOD, Alagappa University.

The College students also under went exposures in the organization of sports and cultural events, which is aimed at developing organizational skills for the students.  The following institutions were given leadership by our college students: 1). Seshadripuram Sports Meet, 2).  Street Kids, 3). KEB Sports and games selection,4).  KEB Jobo Recruitment Test, 5). Rotary Club Sports meet, 6). Times of India Feast, 7). YMCA Kumbalgod Sports meet. 8). Methodist Baldwin School sports meet, 9). Y's Men's Sports Meet, 10). YMCA CIC Sports meet feast at Doddabalapur, 11). St. Martha's Nursing College Sports meet, 12). Mission Junior College Sports, 13). H.P. Sports meet.

The YMCA College celebrated Independence Day successfully.  Sis. Deepa, Principal, St. Martha's Hospital, Nursing College was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Various workshops and seminars and other festivals were observed during the year which gave a rich experience and exposure to our students.  The following programmes were attended by our students: 1)Workshop on family life and sex education at YMCA Bangalore, 2) Workshop on Review of curriculum content for B.P.Ed Course at Bangalore University. 3). Festival of Peace by Visthar, 4) Inter School debate competition, 5) International Peace day, 6) World Water Day, 7) Secularism Programme, 8) World Environment Day, 9) Friendly Matches, 10) Kho Kho, Kabaddi, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Foot Ball, Net Ball, Leg Cricket and YMCA Summer Camp.

Our College students also celebrated the Teacher's Day on 5th September 2006.  The International Women's Day was observed by the students on 8th March 2007.

Leadership Training Camps

The Students successfully under went leadership training camp at our YMCA Camp Site, Kumbalgod where the students had live in experience with a natural camping atmosphere.

Teaching practice and Internship training was given for the students at the following schools: St. Joseph's Indian High School, National High School, Kamalabai High School, Mary Immaculate School, Vinayaka High School, St. Mary's High School, St. Xavier's High School, Hombegowda and Trent Bridge High School.

Our students were also given experience of officiating examinations in which all our students came out successful in Volley Ball, Net Ball, and Leg Cricket.

We are happy to report that the 1st year D.P.Ed. and B.P.Ed students secured cent percent results in their annual examination.
