Personality Development Training for the School Students

ECOLOGY & ENVIRONMENT

Personality Development Training for School Students was organized from 10^th April – 10th May 2006 at City YMCA. Nrupathunga Road, Bangalore – 560001. 26 children from different schools participated in the programme.

	The areas covered were: Leadership, Positive attitude, Memory Skill, Examination writing, Goal setting, Time management along with public speaking communications. The successful participants were awarded certificates.






		Programme Consultation


	Fun and creative workshop

		The fun and creative workshop was organized for the students from age 6-10 years from 10^th April – 10^th May 2006 at City YMCA. 30 children participated and learnt creative art, Group work, Classroom games, Story telling etc.

	Personality Development for College Students

	The Department conducted Personality Development Training for college students and working young people. 10 College students and 9 young professionals from different work place participated in this programme from 9^th – 19^th June 2006

		The subjects covered were: Public Speaking and Communication, Human Relation, Goal Setting, Time Management, Managing stress and Leadership. Certificates were awarded to the successful participants.

	Adventure Camp at Yellagiri Hills

	28 Students from Schools and Colleges participated in an Adventure Camp at Yellagiri Hills near Jolharpet on 11^th – 13^th May 2006. Mr. S.V. Rathna Kumar, General Secretary inaugurated the Camp. Dr. Antony Isaac, Associate General Secretary directed the Camp activities.

	The special attractions were Fun and fellowship games., Trekking and mountaineering, Learn to pitch a tent and outdoor living, Understanding nature around us and appreciate God's creation, Mould to be a leader, Personality Development to face the changing world, Camp fire, Yoga, Bird watching etc.


	One day programme consultation was organized for all the Task Groups of Bangalore YMCA – Task group on SADWI and Women Issues, Task Group on Ecology and Environment, Task Group on Rural Development, Task Group on Secularism, Task Group on Youth Issues and Human Resource Development on 14^th October 2006 at Kumbalgodu.




		Y's Men's Club of Bangalore District

Totally 190 people representing the different Task Groups participated in this programme. Rev. Dr. K.C. Abraham, Member of YMCA Board of Directors, gave the Key note address, Mr. S.V. Rathna Kumar, General Secretary, YMCA Bangalore welcomed the gathering, Dr. M. Antony Isaac, Associate General Secretary, YMCA Bangalore briefed the Theme and purpose of the Consultation 2006.

The groups met separately and discussed the programme for the year 2006-07 and shared their future programmes to the whole group. All the members of the Task Group affirmed their support to the programmes of the YMCA.

Ysm. Aby Abraham District Governor of Bangalore District did a commendable work in promoting many Clubs, in the Bangalore District. Ysm. Jose Mani, as a Regional Director brought the South India region in a better shape and promoted a new Club.

Ysm. Aby Abraham was declared as the best District Governor of India Area and Ysm Jose Mani was declared the best Regional Director of India Area. They belong to the Y's Men's Club of Peenya and Y's Men's Club of Millennium respectively of Bangalore District.

The Y's Men's Club of Millennium Men, Mennettes and Lings took an active part; specially supported the Children's Day programme at Kumbalgodu on 14^th November 2006 by completely sponsoring the programme.

Ysm. T.J. Abraham, Jt. District Secretary and his Family sponsored the Conference bag for the Christian Youth Conference on 20^th January 2007. Ysm. K.V. Jose of Millennium Club actively participated in the YMCA Porogrammes and in the YMCA Board. Ysm. Manoj Babu Continue to support children in Crisis programme from Indirangar Club. Ysm. K.V. Jose was elected as LRD of the Region for the year 2007-08.


	One-Day Ecumenical Christian Youth Leadership Training Programme


	The Department conducted an Ecumenical Christian Youth Leadership Training Programme on Saturday, 20^th January 2007 at City YMCA, Nrupathunga Road, Bangalore – 560 001. 140 Young people from different churches participated in this programme.

Mr. S. V. Rathna Kumar – Gen. Secretary, YMCA Bangalore inaugurated the programme. Dr. M. Antony Isaac – Associate Gen. Secretary, YMCA Bangalore welcomed the gathering.
Dr. Rev. Kiran Sebastian – Professor, U.T.C Spoke about "Awakening Our Spiritual Strength". Rev. Dr. K. C. Abraham – Former Director, SATHRI spoke on the subject "Identifying Our Social Responsibility". Mr. Daniel Jacob – Milt Trainer spoke on "Strengthening our Inner Potential / Leadership for Progress".

Dr. P. Sethu – Director, Indien Hilfe, Co-sponsorer of this programme brought Greetings. Mr. M. J. Narendranath, Former General Secretary also motivated the Young people. Mr. Anil Mathan from Y's Men's Club of Bangalore R. T. Nagar and CIC Staff conducted the fun games in the afternoon.

Ysm. Aby Abraham – District Governor of Y's Men International Bangalore District was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Function. He presented the Certificates along with Mr. S. V. Rathnakumar – General Secretary, YMCA Bangalore.
Ysm. T. J. Abraham, Jt. District Secretary of Y's Men's Club of Bangalore District distributed the College bag to all the participants.


	Mr. Noel.C. Noronha is the Chairman and Dr.M. Antony Isaac, Associate General Secretary is the Related Secretary for YMCA Human Resource Development Department.
