The task group on youth issues continues its efforts to empower young people have their all-round growth of their personalities, become socially responsible citizens and lead a quality life in the context of today's fast paced changing times.

Sir. C.V. Raman Inter Collegiate English Debate 2007 & Prof.  T. Reuben Memorial Inter Collegiate Kannada Debate 2007.

Sir. C.V. Raman Inter Collegiate English Debate & Prof. T. Reuben Memorial   Inter   Collegiate Kannada Debate 2007 were successfully conducted at City YMCA on 23rd and 24th January 2007 respectively. The competitions were inaugurated at a formal function organized on 23rd January 2007 at 9.30 a.m. wherein Rtn. Srinivas Babu, Asst.

Governor, Dist. 3190 was the Chief Guest and Mr. R.N. Iyer, Former Registrar, Delhi University presided over the function.

Sir. C.V. Raman Inter Collegiate English Debate & Prof. T. Reuben Memorial Inter Collegiate Kannada Debate 2007 were successfully conducted at City YMCA on 23rd and 24th January 2007 respectively.  The competitions were inaugurated at a formal function organized on 23rd January 2007 at 9.30 a.m. wherein Rtn. Srinivas Babu, Asst. Governor, Dist. 3190 was the Chief Guest and Mr. R.N. Iyer, Former Registrar, Delhi University presided over the function. 

Mr. S.V. Rathna Kumar, General Secretary, Bangalore graced the occasion and welcomed the gathering. Rtn. D.G. Badrinath, Youth Service Director, Rtn. Virchand Nahar, President – Rotary Bangalore – Peenya also graced the occasion.  A total of 19 Colleges for both the debates participated actively.  The theme for the English Debate was: 'Reality Shows – How real?' and the Theme for the Kannada Debate was:  "Mobile Invention is a Boon to Humanity".

A colourful Valedictory was organized on the 24th January 2007 at City YMCA. Prof. V.B. Coutinho, Former Vice Chancellor Gulburga University and the Member of the Board of Directors, YMCA was the Chief Guest and brought the Valedictory address. Rtn. U.B. Bhat, District Governor, Nominee –R I Dist 3190 presided over the function and delivered the address. Mr. S. Gurubhakta, Chairman, YMCA Task Group Youth Issues graced the occasion welcomed the gathering.  Dr. M. Antony Isaac, Associate General Secretary, YMCA graced the occasion and introduced the Chief Guest.

Rolling Trophy:

M/s. Antony Davis and Subish Jose from Kristu Jayanti College won the team prize of Sir. C.V. Raman Inter Collegiate English Challenger Cup 2007 and Prof. T. Reuben Memorial Inter Collegiate Kannada Debate 2007 rolling trophy was won by M/s. Jagadish and Gowrish Subash of Visveswarapura College of Law, Bangalore.

The Rotary Club Bangalore Peenya came in a big way to support the competition by contributing Rs.15,000/- towards the expenditure of the Debate Competitions.

YMCA Summer Camp: The task group organized a month long training of children between the age group of 7-17 years in Basic computer concepts and Internet Awareness.

A Parent –Child Dialogue and inter action was organized as part of the camp. Around 100 kids and their parents actively participated. Mr. Eric D Jacob, Director Bridge foundation and an expert in ………power of positive thinking brought the insights into children and parents relationships and some of the common problems faced and that how it could be resolved..

Mr. S. Gurubhakta, is the Chairman and Mr. R. Prasannakumar, is the Related Secretary of the Task Group on Youth Issues.
