The XXXII Triennial Convention of the YMCAs of India

The XXXII Triennial Convention of the YMCAs of India was held at New Delhi from 2 to 30th September 2007. This Convention was unique as the 150th year anniversary of the YMCA movement in India was also celebrated during this time. Her Excellency, Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, First Woman President of India was the Chief Guest and inaugurated this historical event. Mr. J. Alexander, National President, YMCAs of India welcomed the gathering. Mr. Martin Meissner, President, World Alliance of YMCAs spoke on the occasion, Dr. Samuel .D. Stephens, Vice-President, World Alliance of YMCAs was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Oommen, Vice President of Asia Pacific Alliance of YMCAs and Mr. D'Costa, President of YMCA, New Delhi were also present on the occasion.

Many YMCA professionals and lay leaders from within and outside India witnessed this historic event of the YMCAs of India. The theme of the Triennial Convention was — One Body-Many parts, Striving together for Changing lives, Changing Communities.
